Potty breaks are a top concern for pet parents when they are traveling with their dogs. Whether it’s by plane, train or automobile, you still need to plan stops for your dog to relieve himself.

But if you’re flying with your pooch, potty breaks can be especially difficult, so to comply with the American Disabilities Act and the U.S. Depart of Transportation, more and more airports are becoming dog friendly - like San Diego International Airport, which provides dog parents with a place to relieve their pooches right inside the airport.

“Located in terminal two, the pet pit stop is decked out with turf, a fire hydrant and a hand-washing station for owners. The airport also has a pre-security pet relief area that’s outdoors and is located between terminals one and two,” according to huffingtonpost.com.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., also have indoor potty stations, as well as a few other cities.

Hopefully, this is a trend that will catch on, because most major airports, including LAX and Chicago’s O’Hare, have potty relief stations outside of the airport. While this is certainly helpful, it still makes it a little difficult to give your dog a potty break before you board the plane.
