Plan a trip with your pooch to get away from the city life in Northern Georgia! These cozy cabins are just what you need to unwind, connect with nature and, of course, bond with your best friend. So pack your bags and buckle up your buddy — we’ll show you three dog-friendly cabins to check out!
1. Blue Creek Cabins – 60 Chattahoochee Street, Helen (map) 706-865-1405
With 20 dog friendly cabins to choose from, you and your four-legged pal can enjoy scenic views, a babbling brook, game rooms and even hydrotherapy pools. Enjoy a hike, go fishing or just relax and take in the scenery. Each room has different features to cater to your entertainment. There is a $25 fee per dog.
2. Hiawassee River Retreat – 15 Cabin Drive, Hiawassee (map) 706-896-7400
This pooch paradise is located on 16 beautiful acres that sit alongside the rushing Hiawassee River, centrally located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The cabin has very strict rules for your pooch, so be sure to read through them very carefully here. Enjoy free WiFi in every cabin, and if you’re planning a wedding soon, they can accommodate that as well. Before your stay, you will need to acquire approval to bring your pooch. Sorry, but no puppies are allowed. There is a two-dog minimum and a 25 lb. maximum weight. Shot records must be made available during your visit, and there is a $50 fee per dog.
3. Toccoa River Houses – 730 Riverside Lane, Blue Ridge (map) 770-655-5266
You can take your pooch trout fishing kayaking or maybe even jet skiing at one of the eight nearby rivers? Enjoy hot tubs, free WiFi, fireplace, a gas grill and all the kitchen appliances you need. This dog-friendly cabin allows small dogs to stay with a rising scale of fees, depending on how long you both stay. There is a $50 fee per dog for up to three days, $75 for up to five days and $100 for five or more days.
